My Journey
I started paying close attention to my own finances when I bought my first home in my 20s. I asked myself, What’s next? Should I focus on paying off the mortgage, investing in shares, or building my super? These questions led me to study a Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Planning at Griffith University.
Through that process, I discovered a passion for helping others with their money. I worked in financial planning for years but eventually realized I wanted to focus on teaching foundational money concepts. I also completed a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment from TAFE QLD, so I could share my knowledge in practical and engaging ways.
The Vision Behind The Simple Budget
I started The Simple Budget because I wanted to make understanding money approachable and accessible. Here’s what drives my work:
Simplicity: Breaking down complex concepts into clear, actionable steps.
Empowerment: Helping people feel capable and confident about their financial decisions.
Community: Offering workshops, courses, and resources that connect and inspire.
Real-World Solutions: Focusing on changes that fit seamlessly into everyday life.
Making an Impact
Since starting my business, I’ve had the privilege of working with thousands of people to help them pay off debt, save for their goals, and take control of their financial future. Each success story reminds me why I do what I do: to empower people with the tools they need to live the life they want.
Money knowledge changed my life. My mission is to help others experience that transformation.
When I reflect on my journey, one clear theme emerges: the transformative power of understanding how to manage money. It’s not just about dollars and cents—it’s about confidence, control, and reducing stress. That’s why I founded The Simple Budget.
Why Money Management Matters
Knowing how to manage your money goes far beyond just paying bills. It’s about:
Informed Decisions: Choosing the best options for your future, like investments or savings.
Achievable Goals: Turning big dreams into manageable actions.
Handling Challenges: Feeling prepared for unexpected expenses or life changes.
Peace of Mind: Gaining clarity on your finances so you can focus on what matters most.
